Decide and Repeat

Confidence is a decision.

A decision to act. When you decide to act like you’re confident, then you are.

And if you know something so deep and so well, then you become confident in that thing.

That’s the definition of confidence.

You’re either acting or you really are.

Either way will work in a presentation.

In this episode, I give two examples where I learned these things.

Curiosity and Zero Expectations

You have many opportunities to make a difference.

Instead of looking for things wrong with an event organized by someone else, show up and make it a good experience for other participants.

You are ‘the people’ they experience.

And good people are good to be around.

You are a marketer.

In this episode I ruminate on how to get people to do what you want.

I propose that instead of creating an organization with a boss to tell everyone what to do (management), you create a movement where people choose to work because you’ve created such a compelling reason.

Marketing is persuading.

You’re unique.

It might be easy to ask ourselves why we would do something that so many other people before us have done, and then give up and not do it.

But that’s just an easy cop out.

No one would do it like you.

So, if you want to do it, do it. Your way.

I saved the day with video…

Only after having my day totally ruined with a complete failure computer crash.

I could have had an easy excuse not to publish. But if I can do it once, I can do it again.

For some reason, I was totally motivated. (A video can do that to me sometimes.)

Don’t give up.

…too easily.

(Sometimes you need to.)

When you do good work, good people appear.

In this episode I talk about how I just happened to have a prime opportunity to share something I published.

And I also met a like-minded awesome person.

Starting over.

I’m calling this my first episode of Rex On The Road, a video podcast where I share interesting things I’ve learned while I’m driving. (I learned them at some point, but I’m sharing them while driving.)
